Canasta is once again joining forces with Rainbow House to support a worthy cause. This Saturday, we'll be playing a 30 minute set during the post-walk festivities of Step Out to Stop Abuse 2003. We'd encourage anyone to consider donating and/or walking (see our events page for details) in addition to coming out to see us play in a completely different type of environment: outside at 11am!
Also, we'd like to direct your attention to the latest fruits of our recording labor. Before he took off to Scotland for a few weeks, Paul Heintz helped us lay down most of the tracks for our soon-to-be-released EP and even put together a roughly mixed version. We're excited to get the vocal tracks down upon his return and finish it up for debut at a Canasta show near you...
For those of you who missed us busting out the trombones at our last show, our friends in Scotland Yard Gospel Choir have graciously invited the trombone-playing members of Canasta (Matt & Jeff) to join them on stage again. They'll be playing with Snowglobe and Sea Ray tomorrow night, Thursday August 7th at the Double Door (9pm, $7). Come out and enjoy some great music!
