What:
Step Out to Stop Abuse 2003
It's a collaborative effort by eight domestic violence agencies to raise awareness of domestic abuse and to raise funds to help women who are experiencing domestic abuse in the Chicago-land area. Last year, nearly 600 participants, along with sponsors and donors, raised more than $70,000 to provide services for women and children. This year's partnering domestic violence agencies are: Apuna Ghar, Chicago Abused Women Coalition, Constance Morris House, Friends of Battered Women and Their Children, Rainbow House, Sarah's Inn, South Suburban Family Shelter and the Women's Program of Heartland Alliance. Monies earned by Rainbow House-registered walkers will go straight to Rainbow House - supporting the women and children who have experienced domestic abuse who access their services, including their emergency shelter and outreach sites in the Beverly / Morgan Park and Little Village communities.
