CANASTA - Memorial Day @ Sub-T + Live on 88.3 FM + Discussion Board
(sent on 2004-05-26)
Just a reminder: Canasta will be playing at Subterranean this coming Monday, May 31. You can come straight from your Memorial Day picnics and barbecues (can someone bring us some potato salad?), because we'll be going on stage at 9 pm. We're opening for Saturday Looks Good to Me, a Detroit-based indie act with a cool, summery 60s sound, and the afro-beat-indie-rock ensemble, NOMO. And after NOMO plays a set of their own, they'll join SLGTM for a total of 11 musicians on stage... whoa. You can also expect another new song from us, which is something like a cross between Cat Power, DJ Shadow, and the Belgrade Jazz Fest. (Excited yet?)
To whet your appetite for the show, Canasta is appearing live on the radio on Thursday night. Beginning at 10:30 pm on WZRD (88.3 FM), the campus radio station of Northeastern Illinois University, we'll be playing a few songs in the studio, answering some questions, and plugging the upcoming show. Tune in if you can!
Finally, the Canasta website now features a discussion board. We're very excited about this new feature, so come on over and tell us what's on your mind. New fans and old friends are equally welcome. (http://www.canastamusic.com/discuss/)
See you all on Monday!
