Canasta - show at Sub-T on 7/21, now on eMusic
(sent on 2006-07-12)
Hey all,
Hope you're all having a kick-ass July. Here at Canasta HQ, we're all gearing up for our next big show, which is Friday, July 21, at Subterranean. We're playing with DeVotchKa, whom we had the pleasure to open for in Madison a couple weeks back -- and let me tell you, if you've never heard them before, you're in for a treat. Imagine a swooning sort of Eastern European gypsy-flavored rock, complete with violin, accordion, theremin, and -- oh yeah, a gal on sousaphone. When we saw them, lead singer Nick Urata even hoisted a bottle of cheap red wine throughout the set and took swigs between songs. So you should totally check that out. Darkly melodic pop band Now It's Overhead, on the Saddle Creek label, plays second.
Also, we'd like to announce that We Were Set Up is now available on eMusic, the second-most popular site for music downloads. You can find our page here: http://www.emusic.com/album/10934/10934448.html.
See you soon!
