CANASTA - Megan's last show: Thur. 2/22 @ Schubas w/ Annuals + NPR Airplay
(sent on 2007-02-20)
Howdy Canasta fans,
Just a reminder that we're playing Schubas this Thursday, along with indie buzz band Annuals and ambitious rockers The Never. The show stands a good chance of selling out, so it might not be a bad idea to get tickets in advance. Many of you also know that it's Megan's last show with Canasta, as she completes grad school this spring and moves away to Michigan. We'll dearly miss her, so come out and wish her well!
In other news, NPR totally loves us. We've already been featured on Chicago Public Radio staples like 848 and Hello Beautiful, but recently we've caught the attention of some national programs as well. World Cafe spotlighted us on its daily broadcast earlier this month, and All Songs Considered selected "Firenze" for its online showcase.
Not content to limit our exposure on the public airwaves to radio, we also got an indirect mention on PBS last week when "rock-star violinist" Elizabeth appeared on the popular local restaurant-review show Check, Please! She chose Mitsuwa Marketplace to rave about and totally held her own against host Alpana Singh and the two other guests. The show reruns frequently, so keep your eyes open!
See you on Thursday!
