Hey folks,

Well, Canasta is just emerging from a long weekend in the suburbs, where we’ve spent day and night working on songs for our next record. In the meantime, though, we’ve got a few upcoming shows to announce.

The first one’s kind of short notice, so we apologize to our fans in the Indianapolis area, but we’ll be playing at The Melody Inn there tomorrow night (Wednesday), along with The Dead Science and Ezra Furman & The Harpoons. The show’s only five bucks, and we always seem to have a good time in Indiana, so come out and sing along.

Then, on Tuesday, July 24, we’ll be in Detroit, joined once again by Mr. Furman and his merry band. Details are a little sketchy now, but we can tell you that it’s at The Lager House, where we once played a drunken set to a crowd of rowdy Yoopers. We can’t guarantee the same this time around, but if you know a Yooper or two, it certainly can’t hurt to bring them to the show.

Finally, on Friday, August 10, we’re playing a benefit for WLUW at Double Door, with May or May Not, Plane, and Driftless Pony Club. It’s a pretty awesome radio station, so if nothing else, it would be worth it to give them some support. But it should be a terrific show, too (and probably our last one for a while).
