CANASTA - NEW MEMBER: THIS THUR. (5/15) @ B. KITCHEN w/ THE MARY ONETTES (Sweden!)

(sent on 2008-05-13)

Greetings one and all...

Sorry for the late notice, but we just got asked to play with super-sweet, Swedish shoegazers The Mary Onettes, this Thursday (5/15), at Beat Kitchen. It's the first band from Sweden with whom Canasta has shared the stage, so Matt is especially excited to discuss his heritage and perform Swedish tonguetwisters for them. It'a a four-band bill, but Canasta's playing relatively early, at about 9:45 PM. And yes, we realize that you'll be missing "LOST", but c'mon... don't you think this week's episode will mostly just be set-up for the big finale in two weeks?

The reason this show's an important one is because it marks pianist Josh Schnable's *last* show and brand new keyabordist Ian Wilson's *first* one! Josh is moving on to greener pastures in Princeton, NJ, while Ian is about to embark on the greatest adventure of his life thus far (whether or not he knows it). So a mixture of both joy and sadness will abound. Won't you join us in welcoming / seeing them off?
