Hear ye, hear ye...

"ANDERSONVILLE MIDSOMMARFEST" (THIS SUN. 6/13) + LINCOLN HALL W/ MUCCA PAZZA (WED. 6/23)
We've got two big shows going down in the next twelve days. Nothing says summertime in Chicago like downing glogg slushies with a bunch of pasty-skinned Swedes, which is why we're hitting "Andersonville Midsommarfest" this Sun. 6/13. We're on the Center Stage (at Clark St. & Berwyn Ave.) at 1:30 PM, followed by a bunch of highly professional cover bands. Or, if you're more the nocturnal type, come out to Lincoln Hall on Wed. 6/23 to catch our debut at Chicago's most beautiful, best-sounding, new venue (from the owners of Schubas)! We're on at 9 and then it's "punk circus marching band" Mucca Pazza, as made famous by "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." We'll see you at both shows. And we don't wanna hear any whining about how tired you'll be from the Blackhawks victory parade and Crosstown Classic. Whose fault is it that you didn't plan ahead properly?

"CHICAGO TONIGHT" FOOTAGE + A STELLAR SUN-TIMES REVIEW
OK, so they didn't let us bring a drummer... and they ended up short on time and cutting one of our songs... but we still rocked WTTW's "Chicago Tonight" anyway. Here's the video proof (and yes, Phil Ponce's aura is visible in person). Meanwhile, the Chicago Sun-Times pop/rock critic Thomas Conner gushed about The Fakeout in his first record review since replacing Jim Derogatis. Here's the piece, which describes our music as "open-air chamber pop that sounds like it wants to go haywire (and become a mess) but has been expertly subdued and shaped and is thus sublime... Pop rarely sounds this warm and natural when it's this intricately composed."

THE FAKEOUT: AVAILABLE AT iTUNES + AMAZON + LOCAL RETAILERS
I thought we'd covered this already, but perhaps not because folks keep writing to ask whether or not the album's available outside of our shows. It is indeed. Whether you prefer to grab your music from iTunes, or Amazon (digital or physical), or local Chicago retailers (Hard Boiled, Laurie's Planet of Sound, Logan Hardware, Saki, Transistor and all three Reckless Records locations), we've got you covered. Now get out there and make us rich, won't you?

CANASTA GETS ITS OWN PANINI!
It's not on their website yet, but Chicago's Catering<>Chocolate (1712 N. Wells) just named a panini after us! "The Canasta" is an amazing combination of grilled chicken, goat cheese, portobello mushrooms and celery with a delectable truffle spread! It's an early frontrunner for best "sandwich" of 2010. And to think... some bands have to wait their entire lives to get their own sandwich. Shall we grab lunch sometime?
