Someone told me long ago, "There’s a calm before the storm"...
THIS SUNDAY: HEADLINING THE HIDEOUT W/ OUR NEW PIANIST!
There’s something really special about headlining a venue that not long ago, you’d
visit only as a fan. In that sense, 2011 has been a big year for Canasta, as we finally
headlined two legendary rooms: Chicago’s Empty Bottle and the Old Town School of Folk
Music. And this Sunday, we’ll add the mighty Hideout
to that list, with a headlining set that marks the band’s first show there in *five* years! It
will also serve as the debut of our new pianist, Sarah Kneebone! Be sure to check out
her Canasta profile first, so as to
avoid awkward lulls in the conversation when you meet her in person. And though it’s
not a Lollapalooza afterparty per se, we once met a guy whose uncle fixed a lawnmower
for Dave Grohl... so we’ll see if we can’t make something happen there. The details...
